SAN ANTONIO -- Police say a father is criminally responsible for burns his infant son got from a hot Pizza Pocket.
According to an arrest warrant, the incident happened as Lionel Brown argued with the victim's mother. The nearly three-month-old child ended up with serious burns.
San Antonio police investigators said Brown heated a Pizza Pocket in a microwave as he had words with the newborn's mother.
Police said he went after the woman as she held their son in her arms.
According to the warrant, he tried to smash the sandwich in her face. Hot cheese from the microwave pizza pouch dripped onto their baby.
Brown then grabbed the child and slapped the woman twice, according to the warrant, but then she reportedly grabbed her child back.
The 32-year-old suspect left the location, and then SAPD was called. Officers said the baby had redness and blisters on his neck.
Brown was charged with injury to a child. Police said he was also wanted for not registering as a sex offender.
