Dad surrenders after shooting mom, holding 4-year-old sons hostage (Dallas, Texas)

More disgusting Daddy Drama at its finest. And this time the Star is dad RUBEN OBREGON.

Why do the police even ask what "lead" to the shooting? It's just the standard Daddy-must-be-in-control bullsh**. What else is there to know?

UPDATE: Dallas Police have identified the shooting suspect as Ruben Obregon, 32. The victim is 33-year-old Maria Martinez. Police say the couple lived together and are the parents of 4-year-old twins. An update provided by the Dallas Police Department says the couple was in an argument when Obregon shot her three times. She was transported to Methodist Central and has survived her surgery. Obregon is being held on $500,000 bond and an immigration hold.

Dallas police surrounded a building at the Colonia Apartments with guns drawn after reports of a man shooting his common law wife several times in the back.

"My next door neighbor shot here two times on the side and she ran around to the back to her brother's house knocked on the door collapsed and told him can he get the kids out of the house that's when he called the ambulance", said Nicole McGuire who lives in the complex.

Police got the call around four Sunday afternoon. The apartments are in the 5800 block of West Bernal in West Dallas.

"I was here when the ambulance brought the mama out and she looked in fair condition to me", said Yusha McDaniel who also lives in the complex.

But the man suspected in the shooting refused police orders to come out. So the swat team was brought in.

"Once police were called the suspect which is like I said is a known suspect barricaded himself in a home with two four year old boys which are twins and are their children", said Senior Corporal Melinda Gutierrez with the Dallas Police Department.

After about two hours, the suspect raised his hands and surrendered.

"They did not speak to him in order to get the apprehension done, it was our officers in the swat unit that did get the apprehension done but his family was out here also", Gutierrez said.

The young boys were put in an ambulance and taken away. Police say they are doing well.

The woman was taken to Methodist Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

There's no word yet on what may have lead to the shooting.
