NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A Newport News father is accused of harming his four-year-old son.
Officers were called to Sentara Port Warwick Emergency Center on November 8 for a possible case of child abuse. Hospital employees told investigators the child's mother brought him to the hospital after picking him up from a visit with his father.
The little boy had bruises above his right eye and over a large part of his lower body, according to police.
The next day, police arrested the boy's father at his Newport News home, in connection with the case. Phillip Alexander Todd, 24, is charged with cruelty and injury to a child, a felony.
