The Bryan Ashline trial has come to an end. Jurors found the Watervliet man guilty on all counts for the murders of his ex-girlfriend and three-month-old child. Our Lara Greenberg has been following the case and was in court as the verdict was read.

STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. -- We have a verdict out of Steuben County Court in the trial of Bryan Ashline. The Watervliet man has been found guilty of all counts in the murders of his ex-girlfriend, Trieste Clayton, and their three-month-old son, Xavier, back on Father's Day in 2010.

The trial started a week and a half ago and from the start, lawyers did not try to hide the fact that Ashline was the man responsible for the murders. Instead, his defense pushed the claim that he suffered from extreme emotional disturbance. Even in closing arguments, Ashline's attorney asked the jury to convict Ashline of manslaughter rather than murder.

But in the end, the jury found him guilty on all six counts: Two each for first degree murder and second degree murder and two additional charges of aggravated criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

The jury only deliberated for about two-and-a-half hours before reaching their decision.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 21st.
