Custodial dad appears in court on unrelated assault charge; stepmom convicted in his daughter's murder (Lenoir, North Carolina)

If the stepdaddy or Mom's new boyfriend had committed a horrendous murder like this, chances are excellent that Mom would have been charged with something, even if the BF had beat her half unconscious.

But custodial dad ADAM BAKER has walked away from his daughter's murder smelling like a rose. He was just a poor babe in the woods, you see, totally fooled by the Evil Stepmom. Even though he is obviously a violent criminal type himself. Disgusting. And ridiculous.

LENOIR, NC (WBTV) - The father of Zahra Baker appeared before a judge in Caldwell County Thursday morning.

Baker appeared on an assault charge and for writing several worthless checks, according to court records.

The case was continued until January 5th.

Zahra Baker's remains were found in late 2010 scattered in fields across two counties. Her stepmother has plead guilty to her mother.
