A toddler found wandering near Owens-Illinois Glass in Streator late Monday night has been returned to his father.
Streator Police Lt. Rob Hawthorne said the department received a call at approximately 11:31 p.m. Monday. An Owens-Illinois employee found a 2 1/2-year-old boy on Shabbona Street. The police picked up the child and brought him to the station.
The father called 911 to report the child missing after he returned from work. The father's girlfriend was watching the child and apparently fell asleep, while the child wandered out of the home. The boy traveled one block east from his home.
