SAN ANTONIO - A 41-year-old man was arrested after police say he went overboard when it came to spanking his 9-year-old son.
According to an arrest warrant, Domingo Flores intended to punish his son for speaking back to him on Oct. 31. Police said when they went to investigate an assault at the home, they found multiple hand prints on the boy turning into bruises.
Police said the spanking started with licks to the boy's backside and then Flores worked his way up the boy's body as he squirmed away. Police said the father then started to strike the boy repeatedly on his back, causing injuries to the boy's shoulder area and back.
Flores was arrested and charged with injury to a child. He was being held on a $10,000 bond.
According to the warrant, the severity of the injuries were beyond the reasonable means of discipline.
