Dad "accidentally" shoots 13-year-old daughter while on Interstate (Joliet, Illinois)

It seems UNNAMED DAD "accidentally" shot his 13-year-old daughter in the neck on Interstate 80, near Joliet, Illinois. The state police say he was putting away the gun after firing it into the air.

Hmm. Next question. Why the hell was this guy firing a gun out of a car window on Interstate 80? "In the air" or anywhere else? What kind of dumbf--k is this guy?

13-Year-Old Girl Shot By Father On Interstate
Father Had Fired Gun Into Air On I-80 Near Joliet
JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) ―

A 13-year-old girl is hospitalized with a gunshot wound Monday morning, after being shot by her own father, Ernesto Reyes, 41, on Interstate 80 near Joliet.

State police say was apparently putting away a gun he'd just fired into the air.

Sgt. John Rattigan said the incident occurred at 1:34 a.m. as the vehicle was westbound near the Richards Street exit.

"He was a passenger in the backseat and had fired the weapon out the window just prior to the shooting," he said.

Reports say one round discharged and struck the girl, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, in the neck.

The victim was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. Her condition was unknown.

Reyes was arrested and booked into the Will County Jail on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm. It was not known if he has a valid firearm owner's identification card.
