THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
A baby boy is being treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital tonight, after he was found not breathing in a bathtub at a Far East Side apartment.

The 9-month-old child was found about 8:30 p.m., said Columbus police Sgt. John Stitt. The boy was in a tub at Aparment 1-K in the Winding Creek Apartments at 4609 Refugee Rd.

The child initially was said to be extremely critical. Paramedics were performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation as he was being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

But late tonight, Sgt. Christ Holzhauser said the child had stabilized and was expected to survive.
Holzhauser said the baby was injured after his father left him briefly in a tub of water.

Police wouldn't release their names tonight.
