Dad accused of killing his 3-month-old son on Thanksgiving (Lakewood, Colorado)

Dad MARCUS LEYBA has been arrested and jailed on charges of killing his 3-month-old infant on Thanksgiving night. It seems that the abuse of little persons is nothing new for Dad; he was arrested tw0 years ago on a charge of cruelty toward a child.

Lakewood Father Arrested In Infant's Death
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)

A Lakewood father was taken to jail Thanksgiving night, accused of killing his three-month-old infant. Lakewood Police Officers were called to the 100 Block of S. Quay St. shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26 to investigate the child's death.

The father of the child, Marcus Leyba, 24, has been arrested and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of child abuse resulting in death.

"There's a lot of family involved right now, so we're continuing our investigation and trying to find out exactly what led to the death of the three month old, and in that investigation we are talking to the mom," said Lakewood Police Officer Sheridan Foster.

Detectives are continuing their investigation in an attempt to determine the exact cause of death, and what circumstances led up to the child's death.

Leyba will make his appearance in Jefferson County Court next week. He was arrested two years ago on a charge of cruelty toward a child.
