Dad charged with involuntary manslaughter in toddler's shooting death (Gainesville, Georgia)
Dad RALEY A. LANE is apparently another one of those guys who can't be bothered to lock up their guns. So we have the usual predicable results: a dead child in a completely preventable "accident."

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A Gainesville toddler died Saturday, after accidentally shooting himself with his father's gun. Now, the father faces numerous charges.
According to Hall County investigators, the 22-month old boy found a loaded small-caliber handgun on a nightstand at his home on Old Cornelia Highway.
The boy's father, 33-year old Raley A. Lane, was in the room with the child when the gun went-off.
He rushed the boy to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Medical staff immediately operated on the child.
He was later flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. But, the injuries he suffered from the gunshot wound to the stomach, were too critical for him to survive.
After consulting with the District Attorney, deputies arrested the father and charged him with involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and cruelty to children.
He is in the Hall County Jail. A court appearance on Monday will determine whether he will be granted bond.
