Father who dangled 1-year-old son over balcony arrested (Houston, Texas)

Fathers rights people are always insisting that a guy who "fights" with his partner isn't "necessarily" a risk to the kids.

It's all crap. Men who abuse their partners are at very high risk for abusing the kids. Abusers are abusers. In addition, they are always very tempted to use the kids as a way to "punish" Mom--like this guy. Thank God he didn't just toss the kid over the balcony in his fit of pique.

Dad is identified as DEMARQUIS FITZGERALD GALLOWAY.

HOUSTON—Houston police arrested a father Wednesday who dangled his 1-year-old son over a second-story balcony during a fight with his girlfriend.

Demarquis Fitzgerald Galloway, 21, was charged with felony child endangerment.

Police said on September 23, Galloway got into a fight with his girlfriend, the mother of his twin boys. He struck the woman in the face, but unafraid, she prepared to fight him back, according to court documents.

That is when Galloway said “Oh, I see I’m not hurting you,” then went onto the balcony and grabbed one of their sons. He then dangled the boy over the balcony while asking his girlfriend if she was going to leave or stay.

The mother said she would stay and begged for Galloway to pull the baby back over, investigators said. He then returned the child to his mother.

A friend who was at the home then took Galloway away so that he could calm down.

Galloway’s bond was set at $10,000.
