Custodial dad, girflriend sentenced to 10-30 years in prison for "extreme" abuse of teen girl (Paulding County, Georgia)
Though it's not spelled out here, dad CORRY DEAN HILL obviously had custody of his daughter. Though the gal pal is blamed for most of the abuse (which was basically torture), I don't think that lets Daddy off the hook. Moms are blamed all the time for the abuse committed by fathers and boyfriends--even when they're beaten and threatened themselves by a guy who's 50 pounds heavier than they. So I really don't feel sorry for daddies who let the evil gal pal torture their kid. They had a clearly had a choice to make it stop, and they failed to do so.
So what happened to this girl's mom? No clue. She's erased from the story entirely--as if she had never existed. Is she alive? Dead? "Disappeared"? (Always a scary possibility with abuser daddies.) What? At any rate, the girl was placed in state's care, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

Teen burned, beating and forced to clean faucets with her mouth
February 3rd, 2011 1:46 pm ET.
Her fingers broken, her upper body covered in cigaretted burns, police said a Paulding County teen was forced to clean bathroom faucets with her mouth.
On Tuesday, a judge sentenced a father and his girlfriend to 10 and 30 years in prison, consecutively, in what Paulding County Sheriff’s investigators are describing as an extreme case of child abuse.
“We do deal with a lot of child abuse cases, but this is a bit worse than our other cases,” Cpl. Brandon Gurley said. “It was a pretty extreme case of child abuse.”
On Nov. 12, Ms. June Arlene Jarrett, 47, was convicted of 14 counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault and nine counts of first-degree cruelty to children, Cpl. Gurley said. The child’s father Mr. Cory Dean Hill, 48, was convicted of second-degree cruelty to children, the corporal said.
The girl was 15 when investigators found out about the abuse in 2008. Still, it’s unclear how long the couple had been abusing the child before another family member who lived in the home complained to the Department of Family and Children Services.
DFACS officials then reported the abuse to the sheriff’s office. Officers discovered a badly beaten and neglected child.
The teen had two black eyes, five fractured figures that were broken on separate occasions, and multiple bruises and cuts, Cpl. Gurley said.
She had multiple cigarette burns covering her face, chest, shoulders, arms, back and stomach.
“The investigation led detectives to believe that these injuries had been caused by Jarrett,” Sheriff Gary Gulledge said. “Detectives also discovered that Jarrett would not allow the child to bathe or eat for multiple days in a row and forced the child to clean bathroom fixtures with her mouth.”
Ms. Jarrett will have to serve 12 years in prison followed by eight years of house arrest and the remaining 10 years on probation, Cpl. Gurley said. Mr. Hill will have to serve three years in prison and the remaining seven years on probation, he said.
At the time the of the complaint, the child was taken into the state's care. It's unclear if she is still there.
“These types of cases investigated by this unit can become emotionally draining on the detectives,” said Lt. Starry Kilgore, who heads the Crimes Against Children unit. Still, he said, “We have made a commitment within ourselves to strive for the safety of our children that are not able to protect themselves.”
