Dad arrested in severe beating of 4-week-old baby (Port Arthur, Texas)

Dad JASON JERAUD LEBLANC has been arrested in the severe beating of his 4-week-old baby. A newborn! ZERO mention of a mother in this story, although one must have been around 4 weeks before. All we're told is that CPS has removed another young child from the home.

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton tells KFDM News his officers are continuing their investigation Wednesday into the severe beating of a baby. Police arrested father of the baby Tuesday night and charged him with injuring the 4-week-old.

Jason Jeraud LeBlanc, 27, of Port Arthur, was arrested at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the chief. He was taken into custody at the child's home at 6000 17th Street.

Chief Blanton told KFDM News LeBlanc is charged with Injury to a Child With Serious Bodily Injury. Officers were taking him to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. Justice of the Peace Mark DeRouen set bond at $150,000.

Blanton says the case remains under investigation.

Port Arthur police say the 4-week-old boy is suffering from traumatic injuries that officers believe were not accidental.

Police were notified that the baby from Port Arthur had been brought to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston on Friday, February 11. According to police, the child was suffering from a number of injuries, include severe injuries to his head, a fractured femur and a fractured rib.

Police traveled to Houston and interviewed the family. Investigators got a search warrant for the child's home in the 6 thousand block of 17th Street in Port Arthur.

Police and Child Protective Services are investigating. CPS has removed a 13-month-old sibling from the home.
