Save your @$$ or be a good father....decisions, decisions. So tough being a daddy driving around with no license, a bunch of pot...and your 2-year-old daughter. But daddy ERNELL RENARD HALE was trying to be good, see. That's why he was resisting arrest. He knew if he got arrested, the police would take his daughter. So better to get into a fight with the police and try and run away.

Um yea. Makes sense. Wait, what were we talking about again? Damn, I'm wanting what this dude was smoking, man....

Well, at least Mom got the kid back. Wonder if this was a visitation gig....

Father arrested after leaving daughter in the car while trying to flee

The father of a 2-year-old was arrested after getting into a scuffle with a police officer during a traffic stop, then trying to flee while he left his little daughter in the car.

Ernell Renard Hale, 21, of Gainesville, later told police that he knew he did not have a license, did have marijuana and was scared police would take his daughter so he tried not to be arrested.

Gainesville Police Department Officer Christopher King received minor injuries while arresting Hale.

King said he pulled Hale over after seeing him driving in the bike lane in the 3600 block of Southwest 20th Avenue. According to King, he had to take Hale to the ground twice while trying to handcuff him because Hale was trying to run away and was struggling to get away from the officer.

Hale was charged with child neglect, resisting arrest with violence, possession of marijuana, and not having a valid driver’s license, then booked into the Alachua County jail. The toddler was turned over to her mother.
