Dad is identified as RAY SALVADOR CORIELL. I'd say he sounds like a freaking vicious animal--but that would be an insult to animals.

New charges filed against father accused of kidnap, rape, attempted murder

New charges of continuous sexual abuse have been filed against a Bakersfield father accused of kidnaping, raping and trying to kill his daughter last summer.

Two charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child have been filed against Ray Salvador Coriell, bringing the number of charges against him in the case to 11, according to Kern County Superior Court records. The charges also include kidnapping to commit rape, attempted murder and sexual intercourse with a child 10 or younger.

Coriell, 30, was held to answer in Kern County Superior Court on Monday. His arraignment is set for May 21 at 8:30 a.m.

The girl, who was 7 years old at the time, was found nine miles from her central Bakersfield home last July on the day she was reported missing. Her injuries included a black eye almost completely swollen shut, bruises and scrapes and other injuries that required surgery, Kern County Sheriff's Department deputies reported. -- The Californian
