5-year-old boy finally dies from brain injuries inflicted by father while an infant (Ottawa County, Oklahoma)

OSBI investigates Miami child's death

OTTAWA COUNTY, Okla. - State agents are investigating the death of a Miami, Okla. child.

Ottawa County Sheriff's officials requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation after 5-year-old Conner Jackson Kreider-Reece was pronounced dead at his home Wednesday.

Kreider-Reece's caregiver called 911. Fire, EMS and sheriff's officials were dispatched to the home.

OSBI agents were brought in on the investigation early Thursday morning.

While awaiting the results of the autopsy, agents have conducted interviews with multiple people and investigated the scene of Kreider-Reece's death.

According to the OSBI, the child suffered a severe brain injury when he was 3 months old at the hands of his father, Henry Moland.

Moland is serving a 30-year prison sentence for the crime.
