Dad arrested for breaking ribs of 4-month-old son, failing to get medical help (Southington, Connecticut)
Dad is identified as TYLER MAIA. No mention of a mother in the home. Wonder if this is one of those court-ordered custody/visitation situations between teen parents who have never been married.

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Southington teen was arrested after he fractured several of his 4-month-old son's ribs and then failed to get the baby medical treatment.
The infant was taken to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center on March 21 after the baby was having issues breathing. Officials say the baby has a pre-existing medical issues.
Doctors at the hospital determined the child had multiple fractured ribs and contacted the Department of Children and Families to investigate.
Officials from DCF contacted the baby's father, 18-year-old Tyler Maia, who admitted to causing the injury. Maia told officials that on March 19 he was feeding the baby when the infant began to vomit. Maia then shifted the baby in his arms in a "violent manner."
Maia noticed something was wrong, but never sought medical help.
The teen was arrested on May 23 and held on a court set bond of $75,000. He faces charges of second degree assault and risk of injury.
