Grandfather headbutts son for refusing "access" to grandchild (Burton, England)

These abuser dads never outgrow their entitlement, do they? Now dad RICKY STOAKS has received a 12-month community order after he headbutted his son for refusing "access" to his granddaughter. Fortunately, the son has more rights than a mother does these days....

Notice that this moron complains that the child is being used as a "lever" against him--even though Gramps has a history of assault.

No mention of Mom or Grandma.

Headbutted for refusing his father access to childby HELEN KREFT

A GRANDFATHER who headbutted his own son after he was denied access to his granddaughter has been given a 12- month community order.

Ricky Stoakes, of Wyggeston Street, Horninglow, was also told to complete 100 hours unpaid work when he appeared at Burton Magistrates’ Court.

He had admitted the assault against his 21-year-old son, Christopher, during a previous court appearance.

The court heard the pair had a strained relationship and things came to a head on May 14 when Stoakes senior was told by text message that he would not be to see his two-year-old granddaughter.

Stoakes told police he believed his granddaughter was being used as a lever against him.

After an exchange of text messages, Christopher warned his father that if he came round, he would call the police. His father told him to go ahead as he was coming round anyway.

Alka Marston, prosecuting, said: “The discussion becomes angry and heated, and words are exchanged.

“The senior Mr Stoakes then leans forward towards his son and their heads collide.

His head hits the bridge of his son’s nose and causes a half-centimetre cut, causing bleeding.

“In interview the defendant says there is a strained relationship and admits he became angrier at not being allowed access so went round to have it out with him.”

“He said he leant forward towards his son which results in a headbutt.” The court heard Stoakes has a previous conviction in 2008 for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, where he was given a community order.

Magistrates were asked to read a presentence report about the defendant.

His solicitor, Neil O’Driscoll, said at Stoakes’ first hearing: “My client said his granddaughter is being used as a lever against him.

“He did lean forward and admitted he headbutted his son.

“He is ashamed of his conduct and left the property as soon as he could. He is frustrated that his granddaughter is being used in this way.”

As well as the 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work, Stoakes was also orderd to pay £75 compensation and £85 court costs.
