Dad suspect in abduction of missing 1-year-old boy; previously had "custody dispute" with mom (Homewood, Pennsylvania)

So do you think Daddy RADFORD POPE abducted this child because the courts are so darn unfair and won't allow him do "shared" parenting? Because they just refused to acknowledge that Daddy was the better parent?

Let's check out the facts. Last time he kidnapped the child, he cut off all contact with Mom (typical of abusive, control freak fathers, whether they abduct or secure custody through legal channels). So obviously "sharing" is not the motivation here. And then Daddy ended up in a Los Angeles homeless shelter with the boy. I don't want to sound overtly biased, but an LA shelter doesn't sound like a great to be raising a child, especially when Mom seemingly has a home. I'm failing to identify a paternal advantage here.

And yet once again, the media downplays an abduction--when done by a father--as a "custody dispute."

PITTSBURGH -- A 1-year-old boy was reported missing from his Homewood home, and police believe he may be with his father, who does not have legal custody of the child.

Police said Raymont Pope was last seen Wednesday morning and may be with his father, Radford Pope.

Police said the boy’s mother dropped him off at Radford Pope’s mother’s house on July 3. Police said the boy was to stay with the grandmother for four days, but when the mother went to pick him up, the child wasn’t there.

Police said Pope drives a silver 2007 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with license plate GTX 0261. Anyone with information to the boy’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.

Last year, Pope took the child from his mother during a custody dispute and refused to return the boy, police said.

Police later apprehended Pope and took the child into custody after finding the two at a homeless shelter in Los Angeles.
