Custodial dad charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 17-month-old daughter free on bond (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
Still left unanswered by the media: How did dad ZYRIAH SCHILTTER get custody of this little girl, and who gave it to him? I have almost ceased to be astonished by how the authorities have codddled this guy, both before and after his daughter's beating death--which took place less than one month after Daddy gained custody.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A Cedar Rapids man charged in the beating death of his young daughter has been released from jail after posting bond.
Twenty-4-year-old Zyriah Schlitter has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and child endangerment resulting in death in the March 2010 death of his 17-month-old daughter, Kamryn. She died a week after medics found her suffering from seizure-like symptoms at a Hiawatha apartment.
The Gazette in Cedar Rapids says Schlitter paid his reduced bond on Monday and was released pending an Oct. 3 trial in Linn County District Court.
A judge reduced Schlitter's bond from $500,000 to $100,000 last Friday.
Schlitter's ex-girlfriend, Amy Parmer, is also charged in the child's death. She was released from jail last week after a judge lowered her bond to $100,000.
