Dad murders 2-year-old son, mom; "friends" blather on about "happy" family (Canton, Georgia)

I get so annoyed by stupid people. This was a "happy" family? According to whom? (Probably not Mom.) And with what evidence?

Notice that at THE VERY END, we see that UNNAMED DAD has a history of mental instability and suicide attempts. I suppose a guy this labile and volatile had problems getting and holding a job as well--which probably explains, at least in part, the family's financial problems. But all the morons assure us that everybody was "happy"....

CANTON, Ga. - Canton police say a mother and her young son were found dead in an apartment complex in what investigators are calling a double-murder suicide. Police say the toddler’s father pulled the trigger, killing his family in a bedroom of their apartment.

It happened on Ridge Road in Cherokee County on the third floor of the apartment complex.

Friends say the family that lived there was once a happy one.

"No one thought this would happen,” said Paris Desi, a family friend. “So yeah, it's a shocker. I got the call, then I jumped up and saw all this going on. And I didn't think it was going to be them, I was praying it wasn't them."

Desi was a good friend of the woman, whom police have not identified yet. They say she and her 2-year-old son were killed by the woman’s boyfriend, who then killed himself.

According to Desi, the couple and their son lived with the man’s brother at the Alexander Ridge apartment complex. Police say the brother told them the young family was having financial problems.

"According to the brother, they were behind on some bills and they were moving out today," said Canton Police Lt. German Rivas.

But Desi believes there must have been more going on. The suspected gunman was last seen by a neighbor at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Police say his brother noticed nothing wrong.

"He said after he came back from work last night, he left the apartment to run some errands,” Lt. Rivas said. “He got back home, and didn't see anything out of the ordinary."

Police say the bedroom door was closed and the TV was on, so the brother thought everything was okay. But it wasn't until Friday morning when he still hadn't see the family, that he went to check on them.

All three victims were found in the bedroom, and so was a rifle.

Canton police say they were called to the apartment one other time about a year ago, when the man locked himself in a bathroom and threatened suicide. That day, no one was hurt.
