Custodial dad jailed for sexually assaulting 10-year-old daughter (Saanich, British Columbia, Canada)

Having read other stories like this, I can't help but wonder whether the mother's alleged "neglect" was legitimate on some level--or whether it was manufactured. It is not unusual for pedophiles (including pedophile dads) to go to elaborate lengths to secure access to their victims. At any rate, this POS UNNAMED DAD managed to get custody--only so he could sexually assault his 10-year-old daughter over a period of months. This girl ended up in foster care, and apparently was never returned to her mother. Notice that even now, Pedo Daddy's sister and parents are supporting him. That's called enabling, folks. And I wouldn't be surprised if they helped Daddy rip this girl away from her mother too, by smearing her and otherwise undermining her.

Notice that the sexual abuse of this girl is just the tip of the iceberg. This guy had a huge child porn collection too. How many other children have been victimized? Notice how the police and justice system coddled this guy for YEARS. They knew back in 2003 about his child porn collection--AND DID NOTHING.

Still think daddies are discriminated against?

Saanich man jailed for sexually assaulting 10-year-old daughter

He gets additional time for ‘severe’ collection of child porn

By Louise Dickson, timescolonist.com July 11, 2011

A 48-year-old Saanich man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his 10-year-old daughter and possessing child pornography was sentenced Monday to three-and-a-half years in prison.

A publication ban has been imposed on the offender’s name to protect the identity of his daughter, now 20.

Victoria provincial court Judge Sue Wishart handed the man a two-year sentence for sexually assaulting his daughter between May and October 2001 and an 18-month sentence for possession of child pornography. The sentences are to be served consecutively.

Wishart found it significant that the young girl was removed from her mother’s care, only to be placed with her father, who sexually assaulted her.

“Her father should have been the one who rescued her from the neglect of her mother,” she commented.

During the sentencing hearing, Wishart viewed images of the offender’s child porn collection, which contained images of infants, toddlers and prepubescent girls being penetrated.

“All child porn is bad ... but this is definitely at the severe end,” she said.

The case began in September 2001, when police investigated the man for the sexual abuse of his daughter.

No charges were laid, but the young girl was removed from his care and grew up in foster homes. The girl rekindled her relationship with her father when she was about 15.

In August 2009, the girl visited her father and found a computer disc labelled “Pictures of Little Girls,” which contained 630 images of child sexual abuse. She brought the CD to the police. During the police interview, she said she had been sexually abused in 2001.

In November 2009, police searched the offender’s home. They seized computer equipment and 123 DVDs that contained images and videos of child porn.

They also seized his digital camera and discovered he had been taking photographs of young girls and women.

The offender, who had no criminal record, was arrested Nov. 25, 2009.

Wishart accepted the daughter’s testimony that her father performed oral sex, digitally penetrated her and that she watched him more than once penetrate himself with his collection of Barbie dolls. Wishart rejected the offender’s testimony. At first, he denied any sexual contact with his daughter. Then he said he couldn’t remember and didn’t know what happened.

A pre-sentence report found the offender is at a moderate to high risk to reoffend.

The offender’s breach of trust and lack of insight are aggravating factors, Wishart found. His guilty pleas are not mitigating because the victim was forced to testify, said the judge.

Wishart also found the offender’s lack of insight into the harm caused by child pornography to be an aggravating factor.

She noted that in 2003, he was warned by police about child porn, but continued to amass a collection of more than 150 DVDs with 1,300 photos and videos.

During the hearing, the offender sat in the front row of the courtroom, his head in his hands. He was supported by his sister and parents.

His daughter sat in the back row with a friend.

Wishart imposed a DNA order and a 10-year weapon and firearms prohibition. He is not permitted to attend swimming pools, parks, daycare or any place children younger than 16 gather unless he is in the company of another adult.

“You’re likely to spend your sentence in a facility which specializes in treatment. I hope you take advantage of treatment,” Wishart told the offender as sheriffs took him into their custody.
