Dad sentenced to 7-10 years for attack that fractured infant daughter's skull (Lincoln, Nebraska)

Is JOHNATHAN ZNOMIST a single dad? Why are these kids being removed from his home if there is a non-abusive mother present? If the mother contributed to the abuse, it isn't mentioned at all. But then it also isn't said that her parental rights are being terminated either. And wouldn't they have to be if she had been present in the home? Whoever the mother is, wherever she is...she's totally erased. I tend to think this daddy either adopted these kids or had total custody. If so, how did he get possession and why? Who made the approvals?

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

LINCOLN, Neb. — A Lincoln man has been sentenced to seven to 10 years in prison for cracking his infant daughter's skull.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Jonathan Znomist was sentenced Wednesday in Lancaster County District Court.

Police say that on May 7, 2010, the 3-month-old girl was taken to a local hospital for a swollen eye. Tests revealed the infant had a skull fracture and four broken ribs in the process of healing.

When questioned, the 35-year-old Znomist told police he had been stressed and sleep deprived when he took his anger out on the baby, hitting her on the back of her head with his elbow.

The girl and her older sister both were removed from the home, and Znomist is set to have his parental rights terminated.
