Dad in "custody battle" with mom arrested for punching son in face (Lehigh Acres, Florida)

Wife batterers and child abusers are much more likely to pursue child custody than nice dads. It fits in with their overall control agenda--it's a handy way to punish/intimidate Mom, and it's a dandy way to secure yourself a little punching bag.

So the fact that dad ANGEL COTTO was in a "custody battle" (read: custody assault against the mother) doesn't surprise me in the least. Basically, daddies like this specialize in hitting and punching people for "disrespecting" them (e.g. failing to kowtow to them in every way).

Lehigh Acres man arrested after allegedly punching son in the face

A Lehigh Acres man was charged with child abuse early this morning after deputies say he punched his son in the face for being "disrespectful."

Deputies responded Wednesday to Marco Boulevard and Sanibel Boulevard in San Carlos Park, and the juvenile said his father, Angel Cotto, 36, approached him while he was riding his bike and asked where his sister was, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report.

The juvenile told investigators he told his father to leave him alone, and his father told him he was being disrespectful and then punched the juvenile in the face and threw his bike to the ground.

Cotto then got into his car and drove away, according to the report.

The juvenile's mother arrived on the scene, saw the swelling above her son's eye and told investigators she wanted to press charges. She told investigators she is currently involved in a custody battle with Cotto.

Deputies located Cotto at his Lehigh Acres home and took him into custody without incident. He denied seeing his son or striking him in the face.
