Dad charged with fracturing skull of 28-day-old daughter (Burrillville, Rhode Island)
Dad MATTHEW MAYNARD has been charged with felony child abuse for "allegedly" battering his 28-day old daughter and fracturing her skull. Notice that Daddy is taking refuge in the "clumsy daddy syndrome" as an excuse--by which normally well-cordinated men suddenly start "tripping" and "dropping" things when the "thing" is a baby. Even though there must have been a woman who gave birth to this baby 28 days before her skull fracture, you'd be hard pressed to know that. How can this baby's mother be erased so completely from this picture?
INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

BURRILLVILLE, R.I.—A Burrillville man is being held without bail after his 28-day-old daughter was taken to hospital with a fractured skull and bruises on her body.
WJAR-TV reports that 23-year-old Matthew Maynard was charged Monday with felony counts of first-degree child abuse as well as cruelty or neglect of a charge. He is held for violation of a previous charge.
Police say they got a call from Landmark Medical Center on Saturday saying that the infant had been brought to the emergency room with serious head trauma. She was transferred to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
Police say Maynard claims that the infant fell and when he tried to pick her up, he lost grip of the child and she fell again.
A call to Maynard's home was unanswered.
The Department of Children, Youth and Families is investigating.
