What's wrong with our society in a nutshell. Mom is having to get up at 6:30 in the morning to get to work so she can support her family. And in order to make this happen, a deadbeat druggie daddy like ERIC E. EDWARDS has to be drafted into childcare.

A Bensalem man allegedly wanted to go buy drugs in Delaware County, so he left his 2-year-old son alone to do so, police said.
Eric E. Edwards, 38, of the 2200 block of Galloway Road, was arraigned on charges of endangering the welfare of a child for leaving the child alone last month, records show.
If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Detectives Kevin Cornish and Joseph Sciscio said they were called to an apartment on Feb. 23 and met with a woman, who said she left for work that morning at 6:30 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. She told them she had left her 2-year-old son in the care of his father, Edwards, records show.
The detectives spoke to Edwards and he admitted leaving the child alone for 90 minutes sometime that day to go buy drugs in Delaware County.
District Judge Michael Burns called the charges "serious" and sent Edwards to Bucks County prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
