A FATHER who was reported to the police by his own son has faced 26 charges of possessing indecent photographs of children.

Ian Morris, of Hospital Road, The Common, appeared at Pontypridd Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 3, where he made no plea to the charges.

The 55-year-old was arrested after his son called the police.

Prosecutor Kayleigh Simmons said: “His son had contacted the police due to suspicions that he was downloading child pornography.

“The police went to his address to search the premises and seize computer equipment. The computer was taken for examination and 22 Level One images were found, as well as four Level Two images.”

Levels One and Two are at the lower end of the Copine Scale, a rating system to categorise the severity of child pornography.

Magistrates adjourned the case until October 1.
