ZANESVILLE -- Dale Wright looked straight ahead and quietly told a Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge he was pleading not guilty to charges he had killed his 5-month-old son.

Wright, 28, of 2148 E. Pike, entered not guilty pleas to one count of murder, one count of endangering children and one count of felonious assault in connection with the death of his son, Dash Christopher Ray Wright.

If convicted on all charges, Wright faces 15 years to life in prison.

Dash was found not breathing just after midnight Aug. 2 by Muskingum County Sheriff's deputies and was transported to Children's Hospital in Columbus. The child was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 3.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said preliminary autopsy reports show the boy died of blunt force trauma to the skull.

Wright remains in the Muskingum County Jail on a $1 million bond.
