Dad pleads 'no contest' in brutal beating of 12-year-old daughter (Muskegon County, Michigan)
Dad JONATHAN JOEL TODD has pleaded "no contest" in the severe beating of his then 12-year-old daughter. No mention of this girl's mother at all.

MUSKEGON COUNTY -- Jonathan Joel Todd Muskegon Heights father has pleaded no contest to second-degree child abuse in the May 2009 severe beating of his then 12-year-old daughter.Todd, 44, entered the plea Tuesday before 14th Circuit Judge Timothy G. Hicks.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 8.At the time, a Muskegon Heights police official called the May 17, 2009, beating -- allegedly carried out by the 380-pound, 6-foot-10-inch father with an extension cord, a belt, his fists and his feet -- the worst he's ever seen.
Police responded to Todd's home on Waalkes Street around 7:40 p.m. and found the beaten girl unable to walk down the steps to meet officers.
The girl was carried out of the home and transported to a hospital by ambulance. She was bruised all over her body; her hair had been pulled out in some areas; and she had a swollen right leg, police said.
