LAKELAND A Lakeland man was arrested Thursday after Polk County sheriff's detectives found images of child pornography on his home computer, according to arrest reports.
Franklin H. Rothauser, 41, a pressroom employee of The Ledger, was charged with 40 counts of possessing child pornography.
Rothauser, of 2639 Maine Ave. in Lakeland, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Thursday and held without bail, according to records.
His father, Glenn Woodard, 68, of the same address, was arrested earlier in the investigation on Aug. 31 and charged with one count of possession of child pornography and resisting arrest, according to arrest reports. He was released Sept. 2 on $5,500 bail.
After receiving a tip, PCSO's computer crimes detectives served a search warrant at the house Aug. 31 and seized Rothauser's home computer.
During a search of the computer's files, detectives found about 2,500 images of children, including child erotica and child pornography, an arrest report said.
More than 40 of the images showed children between three and 12 years old in pornographic poses, detectives reported.
Rothauser's father said the computer belonged to his son, reports said.
At the time, Rothauser was out of town and could not be questioned. When he returned, Rothauser told detectives that the images on the computer belonged to him and that he had been downloading images once or twice a week for the last year, according to the arrest report.
During the search of the home in August, Woodard verbally harassed detectives and would not comply with their orders, reports said.
Detectives searched his personal cell phone and found an image of child pornography stored in its memory, an arrest report said.
