Dad gets 5 years for abusing 6-week-old daughter (Denver, Colorado)
It's the classic shaken baby scenario. Dad ANTON BOGACHOV was babysitting and got "frustrated" because his 6-week-old daughter "wouldn't stop crying." So he shook her till she "stopped." Meaning, he inflicted enough brain damage to make her stop. Of course, then she began vomiting and developed a brain seizure. Doctors say she will probably have developmental deficits, but the extent of the deficits is still unknown.

DENVER, Colo. -- A 23-year-old Littleton father has been sentenced to five years in prison for shaking his infant daughter because she wouldn't stop crying.
Anton Bogachov was caring for his six-week-old daughter on March 7, and again on March 8, when he became frustrated that she wouldn’t stop crying, according to prosecutors. On both days, he shook the baby until she stopped crying, the prosecutors said.
Two days later, the infant began vomiting and had a seizure. The baby’s mother and Bogachov took her to Swedish Hospital. She was then airlifted to The Children’s Hospital in Aurora, where doctors found that she had fluid on her brain, retinal hemorrhaging and had suffered traumatic brain injury.
Children's Hospital contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, which began an investigation that led to child abuse charges.
Bogachov pleaded guilty July 19 in Jefferson County to two counts of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
The prognosis for the child, now 8 months old, is still not clear. The baby has a shunt in her brain to prevent additional fluid from pooling. Doctors have said that she will have developmental deficits. Because the child is so young, they cannot yet predict the severity. Her brain may not develop and it is possible that she may not walk or talk, according to prosecutors.
Bogachov was sentenced on Tuesday.
