ZANESVILLE -- Dash Christopher Ray Wright was 5 months old when he died in early August. Now his father, Dale C. Wright, has been charged with his death.

Wright, 28, of 2148 E. Pike, was indicted by a Muskingum County Grand jury on Wednesday on one count of murder, one count of child endangering and one count of felonious assault. Wright faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted on all charges.

Muskingum County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Wright home just after midnight on Aug. 2. When they arrived, they discovered the infant was not breathing.

The boy was transported to Children's Hospital in Columbus and was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 3.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said at the time the preliminary autopsy reports showed the boy did not die of sudden infant death syndrome. Lutz said the report shows the boy died from blunt force trauma to the skull.

Lutz said family members were home at the time of the child's death.

Wright is being held at the Muskingum County Jail on a $1 million bond.
