Dad with previous conviction for child abuse charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 7-month-old son (Orange County, Florida)

Dad KEITH SKINNER, who has already served time for child abuse, is now charged with 1st-degree murder in the beating death of his 7-month-old son. I really wonder if Mom had any other options in terms of letting this POS back into the home after he was released from prison. Somehow, I don't think Daddy would have taken "no" very well, but I'm just guessing. But I do know that in Florida, her chances of successfully keeping him away without further danger to herself and/or the children was not very great.

DCF Says Father Beat Infant Son To Death

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- An Orange County father who has already served time for child abuse is back behind bars in connection to his infant son's death. The Department of Children and Families said Keith Skinner beat his 7-month-old son, Triumph, to death.

A judge gave Skinner no bond Tuesday morning in court.

The Medical Examiners Office has ruled the death of Triumph Skinner a homicide. Skinner was charged with first-degree murder for the death of his son Tuesday afternoon.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office was called to Skinner's home on South Magnolia, late Sunday night.

DCF said they did not know why Skinner was allowed back in the home, but said he has been on their radar a while.

Skinner was arrested in 2004 for beating another one of his children. DCF did not take the children out of the home because the mother agreed to protect them. But once Skinner was out of prison, he was allowed to go back to the home.

In February, DCF said it received another phone call about the family. However, when investigators checked it out, both Skinner and his wife told them he was not living there, and he denied the baby was his child. The agency said Skinner and the child's mother both lied to investigators.

Skinner could be charged with murder, depending on what his son's autopsy reveals.

The sheriff’s office declined to say whether the child’s mother would face any charges.

A 7-year-old child who was also living in the home has been placed in foster care.
