Paedophile dad jailed for abusing sister, daughter (Macclesfield, England, United Kingdom)

Note that UNNAMED DAD has been jailed for only 5 YEARS for the sexual abuse over his sister and then his daughter over TWO DECADES. Ya think sexual abuse of children is taken very seriously in the UK?

Note that Dad denied everything, and then admitted the crimes. A little message here to the "false accusation" crowd: Rapists and abusers of every type are always calling their accusers liars. Nothing new. Most don't admit anything till the evidence is overwhelming and they decide to cut a deal.

In this defense, it was argued that Dad was the victim of an abusive father himself. Not that I like excuses that deflect away from your own responsibilities. But that's why we need to keep abusers away from children--so we don't generate the next generation of abusers.

Paedophile jailed for abusing his sister and daughter

A Paedophile who abused first his sister and then his own daughter over two decades has been jailed for more than five years.

The Macclesfield man, admitted a string of sexual offences, starting when he was aged just 14, when he appeared at Chester Crown court.

Recorder of Chester Elgan Edwards told the 36-year-old he had committed ‘sickening offences’ that caused ‘incalculable harm’ to his victims.

He sentenced him to five years and four months behind bars on Friday, February 12.

He said: "You have caused long term psychological harm to your victims. These are sickening offences to all like minded members of the public and you have caused incalculable harm to your victims."

The man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – admitted all 16 offences.

These included eight counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual activity with a family member, three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, one count of indecency with a child, and one count of causing and enticing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The abuse of the defendant’s sister began in 1991 when she was just seven years old and continued until she was 12. He later went on to abuse his own daughter from the age of seven up to the age of 12 or 13, the court heard.

Counsel for the prosecution, Simon Mills, said the abuse came to light after social services became involved with the family following an argument between the defendant and his wife, in which one of the children were accidentally injured.

He was arrested on July 6, 2009. The court heard that he accused the police, his sister and his wife of inventing the allegations against him. However, he later admitted the offences.

He entered guilty pleas on the morning of his trial on January 18. Counsel for the defence, Abigail Hudson, said: "My client appreciates the severe nature of these offences. There is a lot of stigma attached to these offences and it took a great degree of courage to stand up and admit them. He also saved the complainants from having to give evidence."

She added: "This is a man who has had a difficult childhood and suffered physical abuse and violence by his father and he left home at 16 or 17. This led to emotional difficulties. While he behaved in a grossly inappropriate way he was very young himself when the abuse began and it always happened at times when he was under a great deal of stress and pressure, or at a low point in his life."

Ms Hudson told the court the defendant had been taking part in supervised sessions and courses while in custody.

Recorder of Chester Elgin Edwards told him: "You pleaded guilty on the morning of your trial and I do give you credit for that."

He said the defendant would have served six years after trial, but his sentence had been reduced after his guilty plea.

His sentence was reduced by 219 days for time spent on remand.

The defendant was also disqualified from working with children and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
