Mom sues dad over death of 18-month-old daughter (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)
The mother is slapping dad ZYRIAH SCHLITTER with a wrongful death lawsuit for the murder of their 18-month-old daughter. The little girl died from head injuries. I assume that the woman being sued is daddy's gal pal? Maybe a step? Not clarified here. Nor is it clarified whether this situation involved a custody/visitation arrangement, but it sure seems like it must have. Why is the media afraid to spell these things out? And if this little girl's death has been ruled a homicide, then why is Daddy not charged?

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in the death of a Cedar Rapids toddler.
Eighteen-month-old Kamryn Schlitter died in March 2010 a week after medics found her suffering from seizure-like symptoms at an apartment in Hiawatha. Her death was ruled a homicide caused by head injuries.
No criminal charges have been filed in her death.
KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids said the girl's mother, Nicole King, filed a lawsuit in Linn County District Court. It alleges the child's father, Zyriah Schlitter, and Amy Parmer caused the girl's death.
Linn County Attorney Jerry Vander Sander said the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment. A telephone call by The Associated Press on Wednesday to Schlitter and Parmer's attorney, Michael Lindeman, was not immediately returned.
