A 23-year-old father was arrested Thursday for reportedly injuring his 4-month-old son.
Doctors at Parkview Medical Center said the baby sustained a fracture to his left arm and a contusion to his right ear, according to an affidavit by Pueblo police Detective Patsy Archuleta.
Brandon M. Aragon was arrested on suspicion of child abuse causing serious injury.
At first, Aragon and the child’s mother told police the baby was injured when their other children, ages 2 and 3, tried to hold him.
Aragon later admitted he was “angry” and “I picked him up by one arm,” the affidavit said.
Aragon said the incident was an accident. The child’s mother was interviewed and released.
The affidavit said the couple’s children were placed in the custody of the Department of Social Services.
Aragon was being held in Pueblo County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
