Jessamine County Father Accused Of Running Over Child's Leg

A Jessamine county man is accused of running over his child with a car, and then refusing to get her medical treatment.
The accident happened on Peachtree Street Wednesday evening.
Police say the small child that fell out of the car was not even two years old. They say this whole incident could have been prevented. Investigators say the toddler was not properly restrained at the time of the accident - she wasn't wearing a seat belt nor was she in a child safety seat.
We're told a witness saw the driver, Viktor Grishchuk, turn onto Peachtree St. That's when police say a car door opened followed by the toddler falling out. Grishchuk is accused of then backing up the car and running over his daughter's leg. When police came to investigate, they found there were six people, mostly kids, inside the five-seat car.
"She did have some abrasions to her foot. It didn't look too serious, but we wanted to make sure there wasn't any underlying issues to her foot because she was favoring it. So when EMS arrived, dad refused medical treatment for the child," said Sergeant Scott Harvey.
LEX18 stopped by to get Grishchuk's side of the story but no one came to the door. A family member called LEX18 newsroom and disputed what the witness said, but did not want to speak on camera.
Vicktor Grishchuk was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment. He has since been released from the Jessamine county jail.
