Dad to spend up to four years in prison for killing 2-month-old daughter (Burlington, Kentucky)

Once again, we see that killer daddies literally get away with murder. Just six years in prison total for snuffing out the life of this little baby.

Dad is identified as BENJAMIN SENSEMAN.

Father gets 4 more years in baby daughter's death
Appeals court overturned prior conviction in '09 case

BURLINGTON, Ky. — A northern Kentucky father will spend up to four years in prison for the death of his child.

Benjamin Senseman entered an Alford plea last month to charges of reckless homicide and second-degree criminal abuse, meaning he believed he would have been convicted but was not admitting guilt.

An appeals court had previously overturned a manslaughter conviction against Senseman, who had been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the death of his 2-month-old daughter, Chloe.

The appeals court ruled that Senseman's confession had been forced by detectives.

The 34-year-old Senseman was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison. He's already served two years.

"It's incredibly unpleasant, it's hard to stomach," said Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders. "We don't like making plea agreements like this; it's not nearly as much as this defendant deserves."

Senseman's wife, Laura, was also charged in the child's death but acquitted at trial.

Their baby died from head trauma, and Sanders said there was evidence of prior injuries.

"Given how young the child was she lived a very painful, very short unpleasant life and it's just tragic," Sanders said.

Given the time he's already served and his lack of a prior record, Senseman will likely be released before he's served four more years.
