Toledo father charged with murder in infant son's death

TOLEDO -- A Toledo father has been charged with murder in the death of his infant son. #32-year-old Kenneth Troutman is being held on $1 million bond in the death of 2-months-old Kevin Troutman.

Police say the father admitted to forcibly picking up his son, holding him tightly around the back of his neck and throwing him down into a car seat. The infant boy was hospitalized after suffering severe injuries.

The incident occurred Nov. 19 at 3601 Hill Avenue, #67, in Toledo, according to police.

The boy died as a result of his injuries on Nov. 20. The father was originally charged with felonious assault, but that charge was upped to a murder charge following the infant's death.

Troutman will appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 2.
