Dad charged with abusing 1-month-old son (Paxton, Illinois)
Can't help but wonder if this is a visitation case. It often is with fathers this young, who are typically unmarried with no previous commitment to the mother or the baby. Notice that there is no mention of a mother in the home. Dad is identified as TYLER S. SCHWING.

Schwing, 20, of 335 E. State St., Paxton, was charged on Jan. 14 in Ford County Circuit Court with reckless conduct causing great bodily harm, endangering the life or health of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police received a report on Jan. 11 that Schwing’s 30-day-old son had been physically abused from Jan. 10-11.
