RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Johnston County Grand Jury has indicted a Smithfield man who allegedly abused his 2-month old son causing the infant to sustain serious injuries.
Johnathan Michael Jones was indicted last week by a grand jury on one count of felony child abuse.
Smithfield police say baby Jaxen Jones was found unresponsive and not breathing at a home on Caswell Street on December 27.
According to the indictment, Jones "intentionally" committed the assault on Jaxen, with the weapons being "his hands."
As of Monday, Jones was still in the Johnston County Jail under a $400,000 bond.
