Dad arrested for biting 3-year-old son, "scuffling" with police (Santa Fe, New Mexico)
Where is the mother???
Notice that there is no mention of the mother anywhere in the story. She's not at the restaurant, she's not in the home. She's not anywhere.
So is this a custodial father? This kind of dad is actually very successful at getting custody: basically (what looks like) a violent yet "functional" alcoholic who is also a high-powered attorney. Any woman who associated with a man like that is basically doomed.
The only reason this guy is going to get dinged is for "scuffling" with the police. Otherwise, you can almost bet this incident would have been swept under the rug.
Dad is identified as GEOFFREY SCOVIL.

SANTA FE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque attorney is facing a slew of charges after his 3-year-old son confesses to police.
Santa Fe police say Geoffrey Scovil had a busy night Saturday night, accused of something bizarre, biting his son. What he’s accused of doing when officers arrived got him in even more trouble.
Witnesses at a Santa Fe restaurant called police after they saw Scovil and his 3-year-old son with injuries to their faces.
Shortly after, police say they found Scovil at a home.
“The child came out and had a bite mark on his cheek at which time officers became suspicious and asked a couple of questions,” Celina Westervelt with Santa Fe police said.
Officers then asked Scovil to step outside.
“They told him at that point they wanted to know about the injuries and the man became very confrontational,” Westervelt said.
Police say he didn't listen to officers and that's when things turned physical.
“The man got into a little bit of a scuffle and he refused to cooperate with the investigation.”
Scovil told police his son threw a cue ball at his head before they left the restaurant.
The young boy then told police what happened to him.
“The child was interviewed and told police his father had bitten him on the cheek,” Westervelt said.
Online records show he posted a $10,000 bond.
Scovil faces multiple charges, including child abuse, assault on a police officer and obstruction.
CYFD is doing its own investigation into the case. Witnesses told police that Scovil had been drinking at the restaurant.
