Father accused of stabbing 9-year-old, wife overnight in Tyler

Tyler — A man is behind bars this morning, accused of stabbing his 9-year-old child.

At 12:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Bellehaven Court in regards to an Aggravated Assault.

While en route officers were informed that the suspect, identified as Vahid Lamea, 52, of Tyler, had assaulted his wife and child with a knife.

Once on scene officers located Vahid Lamea and the two victims still inside their residence.

Officers quickly made entry into the residence and following a thorough investigation placed Vahid Lamea under arrest on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Failure to Identify.

The wife and child were transported to Trinity Mother Frances Hospital where they were treated and released.
