AURORA, Colo. - An Aurora man has been charged with felony child abuse in the death of this 3-month-old son.

Adams County District Attorney Dave Young announced on Thursday he had formally charged 22-year-old Martin Fernando Holguin Jr. with child abuse resulting in death.

Aurora police officers found the baby, Aiden Martin Holguin, unresponsive on Sept. 16 when they were called to an apartment at 1641 N. Hanover St., said district attorney spokeswoman Sue Lindsay. Doctors at Children's Hospital told investigators the baby suffered a skull fracture and severe head trauma.

Holguin was advised of the charges against him on Wednesday in Adams County Court. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 10.

Holguin remains in Adams County Jail on $100,000 bond.
