MANILA, Philippines—A two-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being hacked several times by her father inside their home in Parañaque City Monday, police said.
Police Officer 2 Arlyme Katakutan identified the girl’s father as Mark Palobos, 31, who was seized by neighbors and turned over to police.
The girl was rushed to the Parañaque Doctors Hospital but her condition was unknown.
The incident happened inside their home on El Dorado Street in Barangay (village) Don Bosco, Parañaque City around 3 p.m.
“Based on the initial information, the father got hold of a bladed weapon and started hacking his child,” Katakutan said.
The girl suffered three cuts in the nape. She also sustained burn injuries in the arm, Katakutan added.
Meanwhile, a radio report had it that Palobos brought the bloodied child outside their home and continued hacking her.
When his neighbors tried to stop him, Palobos set on fire a motorcycle, causing burn injuries to the victim, the report said.
The neighbors made a citizen’s arrest on him and turned him over to police.
Police said Palobos was given medical examinations. Jamie Marie Elona
