An Eastlake man is behind bars, charged with trying to run his wife and child over with his truck.
According to the Eastlake Police Department Facebook page:
Officers were called to an East 348th Street residence about 9:41 p.m. Saturday.
On scene, the woman victim told police that she had called her husband, Marc A. DeMarco, 29, to take their young son to the hospital.
However, when DeMarco arrived, the couple began to argue. At some point, DeMarco put his truck into drive as his wife began to walk toward the front door of her home with the child in her arms.
Police said DeMarco then used the truck to chase her as she ran inside.
DeMarco told police his wife threw a full can of pop and struck him in the mouth before their arrival, though he had no visible injuries.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
DeMarco was arraigned Tuesday in Willoughby Municipal Court where Magistrate Hector Martinez set his bond at 10 percent of $10,000, which was not posted. A preliminary hearing is slated for Nov. 19.
If convicted on both counts, DeMarco could spend up to 16 years in prison.
