A Tacoma father pushed his son out of his car while fleeing police Sunday night.
Fox News says the father pushed his three-year-old son out of his car and then crashed into two other cars before being arrested.
The News Tribune reported that the boy's mother called police around 8 p.m. to say the father took the boy without permission and he didn't have a car seat.
Officers tried to pull the man over near South Cedar and South Melrose streets, but he drove away. They stopped pursuing the vehicle because they felt it was a risk to the child's safety.
The officers waited for the father to return home.
Both the father and child were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Drivers in the cars involved in the collisions were also taken to the hospital.
Police will file charges after the father is released from the hospital.
