Another "stay-at-home" dad charged with abusing infant; baby has permanent and severe brain damage (Freeborn County, Minnesota)
Yet another case where Mom had to work, while dad CORY BAILEY lazed around the house, smoked dope, and abused the baby. It appears the baby has permanent brain damage that will leave him in an infantile state for the rest of his life. But notice that it's the MOTHER who has lost custody, and that the baby now lives with Daddy's mother, the same one who raised him so, ahem, successfully. And this POS daddy gets supervised visitation too! Why is this father being coddled?

Freeborn County Father Appears In Court On Child Abuse Allegations Submitted by Melanie Bloom, ABC 6 News Anchor

A baby boy in Freeborn County is hurt so badly, doctors say he'll forever have the brain of an infant.
His father is charged with six felonies, accused of causing his baby boy's injuries when the child was just three months old. The alleged incident happened in December 2010.
Cory Bailey, 28, of Geneva, is accused of abusing his son so badly that he now has severe brain damage. The court complaint states that the child probably will never walk and will be blind.
Bailey appeared in Freeborn County Court for the first time on Wednesday.
A criminal complaint outlines how severe Dakota's injuries are. The boy spent nearly a month in intensive care at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. During that time, Dakota was put in a medically induced coma due to severe seizures.
Nelson says, "This child was a healthy little baby."
Doctors say Dakota will always have the brain of an infant.
They disagree with Cory Bailey's claim the baby's head hit a door frame, saying the injuries are too severe.
Nobody really knows why the injuries happened.
"The why is a question sometimes I can never answer,” says Nelson.
According to the criminal complaint, the child's mother was at work when the abuse happened. It also shows Bailey admitted to authorities that he was smoking pot while watching the baby.
Bailey will be back in court next month. He is now free from jail.
Dakota is living with his mother, requiring near constant care.
Dakota's father is allowed visitation, but Freeborn County Attorney Craig Nelson says it is strictly supervised.
