Bethlehem father who broke son's arm sentenced

A Bethlehem man who fractured his 5-month-old son's arm received a time-served to one-year sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to three criminal charges.

Christian Bauer, 22, was arrested after he told investigators he had abused his son in August while feeling "frustrated and rejected" by the baby and angry over his crying, according to court records.

In Northampton County Prison since April, Bauer admitted to endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and simple assault. Under Judge Stephen Baratta's sentence, he will also have five years of probation.
